Black Diamond Signet Ring
Some commissions begin with an idea. Others begin with absolute certainty.
This signet ring was commissioned as a deeply personal gift, created to mark a significant moment between two people. Before we ever met, the client already knew exactly what the piece needed to be. Every detail held meaning. Every line, colour and gemstone had a purpose.
My role was not to invent the story, but to help bring it faithfully into the world.
At the centre sits a natural 1.42ct black kite-shaped diamond, specially sourced and imported for the project. Its bold geometric form became the foundation of the design, framed by layers of yellow gold, white gold and rose gold that reflect different aspects of the story it represents.
A natural ruby sits beside the diamond, secured within a hand-crafted star setting. Small in scale but immense in significance, it became one of the defining details of the piece.
What made this commission so memorable was the clarity of the vision. Creating something that aligned so precisely with what the client imagined was a rewarding experience, a true collaboration built on trust, intention and shared excitement.
The result is a ring that appears simple at first glance, yet reveals greater meaning the longer it is worn. A deeply personal piece that demonstrates how jewellery can become far more than an object, carrying memory, symbolism and connection within every detail.
If you would like to discuss commissioning a piece of jewellery that carries your own story and symbolism, you are welcome to enquire.
